RVIS achieves milestone of 170 students from 22 nationalities

Riffa Views International School (RVIS) celebrated with the media the start of its second full year of operation and the milestone of 170 students enrolled from 22 different nationalities along with the addition of Grade 6 to the 2009/2010 school-term.

Alfredo Laffitte, CEO of Riffa Views commented: “RVIS stands as one of the key completed elements of the development and we are proud to see the positive evolution it has had since it opened its doors for the first time in September 2008. RVIS and the Royal Golf Club are key components of the lifestyle offered not only to the property owners but to the community of Bahrain. Bruce McWilliams, Director of RVIS commented: “We are glad to share with the media such an important achievement as we have now started our second year of operation. This year the RVIS faculty has established a committee to develop ways in which the school can celebrate and recognize the multicultural nature of our students as we have children from 22 different nationalities. RVIS has set new standards in education for the Kingdom of Bahrain with its exceptional quality open-style facilities that include state-of-the-art technology. This year we will be working hard on the implementation and development of our middle school program.”

At RVIS students have the opportunity to excel academically, athletically, as well as in the performing and visual arts with access to world-class facilities including two heated/chilled swimming pools, a large gymnasium, a 2-storey library with 9,000 volumes, a fitness center, band room, dance studio, 2 playgrounds, and 2 cafeterias.

احتفلت مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز الدولية (RVIS) مع وسائل الإعلام و ذلك لابتداء السنة الدراسية الثانية من أول افتتاح لها ، حيث سجل 170 طالبا من 22 جنسية مختلفة بالإضافة إلى افتتاح الصف السادس لعام 2009 / 2010.

و علق ألفريدو لافيت ، الرئيس التنفيذي للرفاع ڤيوز قائلا :” تقف مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز الدولية كواحدة من العناصر الأساسية لإنجاز المشروع ، ونحن فخورون لرؤية التطور الإيجابي بها منذ افتتاح أبوابها للمرة الأولى في سبتمبر 2008. و تعد مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز الدولية و النادي الملكي للغولف من الأجزاء الرئيسية لنمط الحياة التي وعد بها المشروع, ليس فقط لملاك المنازل ولكن للمجتمع البحرين ككل. تشمل مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز الدولية الأطفال من جميع أنحاء العالم و تجمعهم معا في جو من الاحترام المتبادل ، والصداقة والتفاهم “.

كما قال بروس ماك ويليامز ، مدير مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز الدولية بهذه المناسبة : “نحن سعداء للمشاركة مع وسائل الإعلام بمثل هذا الإنجاز الهام ونحن الآن بدأنا في العام الدراسي الثاني. و هذا العام قام طاقم التدريس بإنشاء لجنة لتطوير طرق التعامل والتعرف على الطباع المتعددة الثقافات لطلابنا حيث إن لدينا 22 طفلا من جنسيات مختلفة. و وضعت مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز الدولية معايير جديدة في مجال التعليم لمملكة البحرين مع خلال النوعية المنفتحة و الاستثنائية للمرافق الحديثة التي تشمل أحدث ما وصلت إليه التكنولوجيا. هذا العام سوف نعمل بجد على تنفيذ وتطوير برامجنا لصفوف المراحل المتوسطة “.

Riffa Views Int’l School Celebrates 1st Full Year of Operation

Riffa Views is celebrating the first full year of operation of the Riffa Views International School (RVIS). RVIS opened the doors for the first time on September 3rd, 2008 to welcome students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5 and RVIS has now established its place in Bahrain as the premier American curriculum school in the Kingdom.

Alfredo Laffitte, CEO of Riffa Views, commented on this major milestone: “RVIS has a dynamic and experienced faculty that has been working hard along the last year towards promoting the academic potential, multicultural understanding, environmental awareness and well-rounded aesthetic, physical and social development of every student. RVIS along with the Royal Golf Club complement Riffa Views’ community vision and we are proud to see that each of them are achieving milestones which add to the success of the development as a whole.”

The school has many outstanding facilities including a state-of-the-art technological infrastructure, based on a high speed fiber-optic cable network and campus-wide wireless access. All students have computer access in their classrooms as part of the one-on-one laptop programme that has been implemented for students from Grade 1 to 5. All school-children participate in daily Arabic language classes, as well as music, art, physical education, and attend regularly the two-storey library, which contains 6,800 volumes.

Bruce McWilliams, Director of the RVIS commented: “The RVIS faculty did a stellar job this year in creating bright beautiful classrooms, establishing our curriculum, and providing an exciting and challenging academic program for our children. RVIS will continue to be a place with compassionate teachers taking the time to get to know and meet the needs of every student in their care. Next year our students will see the school focus significantly on the implementation of technology in the classrooms, while our faculty committee continues working towards the creation of the middle school. We are also looking forward to receiving new students as we have added grade 6 for the 2009/2010 school year.”

September 2009 sees the launch of Structured Word Inquiry at RVIS. This is an engaging, problem solving approach to word study and spelling which belies the commonly held belief that English spelling is an irregular system, full of exceptions to the rules. RVIS will also continue to develop its community service programs and environmental awareness activities, while exploring new avenues for parents to learn about and discuss ways to strengthen the partnership between the administration, faculty and parents in the upbringing of RVIS children in the years to come.

مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز الدولية تحتفل بإكمال عامها الأول من بدا عملها

احتفلت مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز الدولية بإكمال عامها الدراسي الأول لعام 2009. حيث قامت المدرسة بفتح أبوابها لأول مرة في الثالث من سبتمبر 2008 لاستقبال الطلاب من مرحلة ما قبل الروضة حتى الصف الخامس و قد كونت مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز الدولية الآن كمدرسة من المدارس السباقة في المنهج الدراسي الأمريكي في المملكة.

وعلق ألفريدو لافيت، الرئيس التنفيذي للرفاع ڤيوز بهذه المناسبة: “إن مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز الدولية لها ديناميكية عالية و طاقم تدريسي ذو خبرة كبيرة حيث عمل الكل جاهدا على امتداد العام الذي مضى ، من أجل تعزيز الإمكانات الأكاديمية ، وفهم الثقافات المتعددة ، والتوعية البيئية والجمالية والمادية و كذلك التنمية الاجتماعية للتقريب بين كل طالب. كما تعمل مدرسة الرفاع الدولية بالقرب مع النادي الملكي للغولف بهدف إيضاح رؤية المجتمع ونحن فخورون أن نرى كل ذلك يتم تحقيقه من خلال المعالم التي تضاف لإنجاح المشروع ككل.”

و توفر المدرسة العديد من التسهيلات ومنها أحدث أنواع البنى التحتية التكنولوجية ،و 1لك من جانب سرعة الكابلات الألياف البصرية العالية والشبكة اللاسلكية المنتشرة على نطاق الحرم المدرسي. كما يستطيع الطلاب باستخدام الحواسيب الآلية في الصفوف الدراسية حيث يتواجد كمبيوتر محمول لكل طالب و يشمل البرامج التي تم تنفيذها للطلاب من الصف الأول إلى الخامس.و يحصل جميع الأطفال في المدرسة على حصص يومية للغة العربية ، وكذلك كل من دروس الموسيقى والفن ، والتربية البدنية ،كما يقوم الطلاب بزيارة المكتبة ذات الطابقين بانتظام و تحوي المكتبة على 6800 مجلد و كتاب.

كما علق بروس ماك ويليامز مدري مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز الدولية: “قام طاقم مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز بعمل جبار هذا العام بخلف صفوف مدرسية ، كما تم وضع المناهج الدراسية لدينا و التي قدمت تحديات مثيرة للبرنامج الأكاديمي لأطفالنا. ستواصل مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز بإعطاء المدرسين الفرصة لتبادل المشاعر و التعرف على الطلاب بالإضافة إلى تلبية احتياجات كل طالب و رعايته. سوف يشهد طلابنا في العام المقبل تركيز المدرسة بشكل كبير على تطبيق التكنولوجيا في الفصول الدراسية ، في حين لا يزال لدينا فريق لجنة عمل من أجل إنشاء و إكمال قسم المرحلة المتوسطة. ونحن نتطلع أيضا إلى استقبال الطلبة الجدد كما أننا أضفنا الصف السادس للسنة الدراسية 2009/2010. ”

و سيرى شهر سبتمبر إطلاق برنامج وورد في مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز الدولية. هذا البرنامج سيسمح للطلاب بالعمل على برنامج وورد من دون مشاكل من ناحية تهجئة الكلمات و التي شاع الاعتقاد بأنها انجليزية خاطئة و هذا البرنامج يشمل كل الاستثناءات الغير متوفرة في أي برنامج آخر.كما تستمر مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز الدولية في تطوير خدمة المجتمع وبرامج وأنشطة التوعية البيئية ، في حين أن تستكشف سبل جديدة لأولياء الأمور لمعرفة ومناقشة سبل تعزيز الشراكة بين الإدارة وأعضاء هيئة التدريس والآباء والأمهات في تربية أطفال مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز الدولية في السنوات القادمة.
