BMI Honours Charity Golf Sponsors

Muneera Bin Hindi, President of Bahrain Mobility International (BMI) hosted a special evening recognizing and thanking the sponsors of the Shaikh Faisal Bin Hamad Al Khalifa Memorial Trophy golf tournament. The tournament, which was held in March at Safriya Palace, raised BD30 000 for the charity.

“On behalf of everyone involved with Bahrain Mobility International, I would like to give thanks to all the tournament sponsors for their generosity,” said Muneera at the ceremony which was held at the charity’s premises in Isa Town. “This was the final year of Riffa Views title sponsorship of the event and I would particularly like to recognize them for all their kind support over the past three years. The money raised each year from this wonderful tournament is vital for maintaining and enhancing the facilities at the centre for the disabled people of Bahrain.”

In response, Alfredo Laffitte, CEO from Riffa Views said “For the past three years, Riffa Views was able to assist, in a tangible manner, those members of our society which need our support. As the development approaches its final stages of completion, we are now transferring our community support towards the community of Riffa Views. Therefore, we encourage other corporate institutions to support this worthwhile charity event in the years to come as any kind of assistance is valuable to improve the quality of life of people with limited mobility.”

Also present at the ceremony were Adel Sultan of Bahrain Mobility International, Michael Braidwood, General Manager of the Royal Golf Club who were responsible for organizing and running the tournament, Dreena Rogers, Liaison Office for Bahrain Mobility International as well as a number of representatives of the various tournament sponsors. Several disabled patrons of the charity’s facilities also attended.

The fourth Shaikh Faisal Charity golf tournament in aid of Bahrain Mobility is due to be held in March 2010, once again on His Majesty the King’s golf course at Safriya Palace. Bahrain Mobility International is a social, general and non-profit making centre located in Isa Town and run entirely on charitable donations. Established in 1979, it provides social rehabilitation and services to the disabled in Bahrain. The BMI centre also offers training workshops to those with special needs and helps them to produce goods for sale or exhibition. The BMI centre has a kindergarten nursery for children aged 3 – 6 years attached to it which prepares the children for actual school studies. The nursery also accepts non disabled children, thus helping the integration of disabled children into the community.

مركز الحراك الدولي يكرم الرعاة الرسميون للحدث الخيري

استضافت منيرة بن هندي ، رئيسة مركز الحراك الدولي مساء أمس الرعاة الرسميون لتخصيص تقديم الشكر لدعم كأس الشيخ فيصل بن حمد آل خليفة التذكاري للجولف. و البطولة التي عقدت في مارس في قصر الصافرية حصلت على ريع و قدره ثلاثون ألف دينار بحرين قدمت لدعم المركزي.

و قالت منيرة في حفل الافتتاح الذي عقد في مقر الجمعية خيرية في مدينة عيسى ” بالنيابة عن الإفراد المشاركين في مركز الحراك الدولي أود أن اشكر جميع رعاة البطولة لسخائهم”. كانت هذه السنة الأخيرة لمشاركة الرفاع ڤيوز برعاية اللقب لهذا الحدث ,وأود بصفة خاصة أن اعترف بكل ما قدموه من دعم عيني على مدى السنوات الثلاث الماضية. الأموال المقدمة في كل سنة من هذه البطولة الرائعة أمر حيوي لصون وتعزيز المرافق في مركز للمعاقين من البحرين “.

وردا على ذلك ،علق السيد ألفريدو لافيت الرئيس التنفيذي للرفاع ڤيوز قائلا “خلال السنوات الثلاث الماضية ، تمكنت الرفاع ڤيوز من المساعدة ، وبطريقة ملموسة ، إلى بعض من أعضاء المجتمع الذين هم في حاجة إلى دعمنا. كما وضع نهج مراحل المشروع النهائية للاستكمال ، فنحن الآن في طور تحويل مجتمعنا من أجل دعم مجتمع الرفاع ڤيوز. ولذلك ، فإننا نشجع الشركات والمؤسسات الأخرى لدعم هذا الحدث الخيري و الجديرة بالاهتمام في السنوات القادمة بأي نوع من المساعدة القيمة و ذلك من أجل تحسين نوعية الحياة للأشخاص الذين يعانون من محدودية الحركة. ”

كما حضر الحفل كل من عادل سلطان من مركز الحراك الدولي البحريني و مايك بريدوود, المدير العام للنادي الملكي للغولف حيث كانوا المسئولين عن تنظيم وإدارة البطولة, يالاضافة إلى دينا روجرز ، نقطة الاتصال التابع لمركز البحرين للحراك الدولي ، فضلا عن عدد من ممثلي البطولة المختلفين. و كذلك حضر بعض من المعوقين و المشاركين في الأعمال الخيرية.

مركز الحراك الدولي هو مركز اجتماعي، عام وغير ربحي يقع في مركز مدينة عيسى والمعتمد كليا على التبرعات الخيرية. أنشئ المركز في عام 1979 ،و يوفر إعادة التأهيل الاجتماعي والخدمات للمعوقين في البحرين. كما يقدم مركز الحراك الدولي التدريب وحلقات العمل لذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة حيث يساعدهم على إنتاج سلع للبيع أو العرض. و يشمل مركز الحراك الدولي روضة ودار حضانة للأطفال الذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين 3 إلى 6 سنوات والتي تعد لأطفال المدرسة بالمناهج الأساسية. و تقبل الحضانة أيضا الأطفال غير المعوقين حيث يساعد ذلك على دمج الأطفال المعوقين في المجتمع.
