Agriculture Center for Vocational Training Receives Support

The Riffa Views’ team recently visited the Agriculture Center for Vocational Training as part of their commitment to donate the monetary prize received by the Riffa Views Farmers Market Stand for being awarded third place in the “Best Stand” competition at the Riffa Views Bahrain International Garden Show 2009 (RVBIGS 09).

The Center opened officially on March 30th 2009 and is considered as a model training workshop aimed at developing the agricultural work and professional skills of the young students with special needs, in addition to offering them the opportunity to become productive members of the society.
Eng. Zeeba Al Amir commented: “The challenge is not only to establish this type of training center, but to ensure its operability and sustainability. Therefore, we took into consideration producing vegetables of high value in the market and some of the seeds were brought from Germany and Czechoslovakia.”
“We are very pleased to be supporting the Center which is making a valuable contribution to providing appropriate training and lasting opportunities to an important group of Bahrain’s youth in the agricultural sector, which, as a ‘green’ focused development, is aligned with our vision ,” said Karla Solano, Head of Marketing & PR at Riffa Views.
The students utilize their skills towards harvesting local produce that includes 13 varieties of tomatoes, 11 varieties of beans, cucumber, watermelon, squash, lettuce, onion, broccoli, beetroot and many more. In addition, the students also learn about irrigation systems, planting, and fertilization, all of which is part of a 1-year programme which aims at placing them in a job-related opportunity once they complete their course.
“We want to show people what our students are able to achieve and we use the support from our sponsors and donors to further develop new ideas for the center to be self-sufficient. We would like to have a show room to display the produce of our students and to host seminars open to the public on agriculture related topics. This Center has great potential as it is even capable of producing 6,500 plants and flowers that we can grow upon request,” added Mrs Al Amir.
قام فريق الرفاع ڤيوز مؤخرا بزيارة للمركز الزراعي للتدريب المهني كجزء من التزامها بالتبرع النقدي بالجائزة التي تلقاها قسم سوق الرفاع ڤيوز للمزارعين حيث فازت الرفاع فيزو بالمركز الثالث ل “أفضل منصة” و ذلك من خلال الرفاع ڤيوز معرض البحرين الدولي للحدائق 2009.
و قد تم التبرع بالمبلغ إلى المهندسة زيبا الأمير ، وهي عضو لجنة المركز الزراعي للتدريب المهني ومصممة المشروع و الذي يتيح فرص التدريب في القطاع الزراعي للشباب ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة. ويقع المركز الجديد في هورة عالي بمساحة هكتار واحد والتي تبرعت بها وزارة شؤون البلديات والزراعة.
و قد تم الإفتتاح الرسمي للمركز في 30 من شهر مارس 2009، ويعتبر المركز بمثابة ورشة تدريبية نموذجية بهدف تنمية مهارات الشباب المعاقين و ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة في مجال الزراعة، إضافة إلى توفير الفرصة لهم ليصبحوا أعضاء منتجين في المجتمع.
قالت المهندسة زيبا الأمير : “التحدي لا يتمثل فقط في إنشاء هذا النوع من مراكز التدريب ، ولكن الصعوبة تكمن في ضمان استمرارية هذه المراكز. ولذلك ، فقد أخذنا في الاعتبار إنتاج الخضراوات ذات القيمة الإقتصادية العالية في السوق ، وبعض البذور التي تم جلبها من بعض الدول الأخرى مثل ألمانيا وتشيكوسلوفاكيا. ”
“إننا مسرورون جدا بدعم المركز والذي يقدم مساهمة قيمة لتوفير التدريب الملائم والدائم و عرض الفرص الهامة لمجموعة من الشباب البحريني في القطاع الزراعي ، والذي يركز على تنمية الخضرة في البحرين ،و ذلك مما يتماشى مع رؤيتنا “كارلا سولانو ، رئيسة التسويق والعلاقات العامة في الرفاع ڤيوز.
و يستفيد الطلاب من مهاراتهم في الزراعة من أجل حصاد المنتجات المحلية و التي تضم 13 نوعا من الطماطم و 11 نوعا من الفاصوليا والخيار والبطيخ ، والقرع ، والخس والبصل والبروكلي ، و الشمندر و انواع كثيرة من شتلات الزينة المختلفة. علاوة على ذلك، تعلم الطلاب طرق الري المختلفة، وطرق الزراعة، والتسميد، والتي هي جزء من البرنامج السنوي والذي يهدف إلى تأهيلهم في الحصول على وظائف ذات الصلة بالزراعة بعد إتمام الدورة.
وأكملت زيبا الأمير قائلة: “نحن نريد أن نبين للناس ما يقدر طلابنا على تحقيق و إننا نستخدم الدعم من الجهات الراعية والجهات المانحة لنا لتطوير الأفكار الجديدة للمركز و الذي يؤدي إلى تحقيق الاكتفاء الذاتي للمركز. و نود أن تتوفر لنا صالة لعرض المنتجات الزراعية من إنتاج طلابنا بالإضافة إلى استضافة الندوات المفتوحة للمهتمين على الزراعة و على المواضيع التي لها صلة بها. لهذا المركز إمكانيات كبيرة حيث أنها قادرة على إنتاج ما يقارب 6500 من النباتات والزهور التي يمكننا زراعتها عند الطلب “.
Riffa Views Thanked for its Support to Children’s Library

Riffa Views, Signature Estates was in attendance for the sponsors’ award ceremony for the sponsorship of the Children’s Library at the Information Center for Women and Children.
The award ceremony, on Wednesday 28th of January, was presented by Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa, member of the Board of Trustees of the Women and Child Welfare, with Dr. Majed Al Noami, Minister of Education in attendance.
Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa welcomed the sponsors to the ceremony, stating that “Those who have given us their valued support for this cause have enabled us to provide the best in social services. The society is happy to confirm that we have helped 1000 families a year through our services with medical services, Eid celebration preparation, beginning of a school just to name a few but we also have to mention that the society received amazing support from the Ministry of Education in the form of 150 students volunteering at the society’.
The Library located in Isa Town at the Women and Child Welfare Society’s Information Center was initiated for the cause of educating the young within a positive environment. The Library houses 2000 books in English and Arabic which will be added to in the future; an entertainment division that includes a Television with educational and leisure videos; and a games room which includes electronics and educational games all for the children to benefit from. It also caters to the adults with books in English and Arabic including research and books published by well known Bahraini educators and writers.
The Educational facility doesn’t end there, with educational lectures for adults being provided by the Women and Child Welfare Society; courses in English, Computer, and Arabic Calligraphy; and workshops in art and music to facilitate different taste and requirements.
Richard Browning, CEO of Riffa Views commentated,” The opening of the library is an essential goal for the Women and Child Welfare Society to aspire and achieve and thus the reason why we as Riffa Views needed to be a part of this cause which enriches the Children and Future of Bahrain,’
The Future plan of the information center is wide and varied from a puppet show stand for the children to perform plays and sketches they read from the books and an art section within the center in which a work area will be provided for painting and pottery classes. The Women and Child Welfare Society are also going to start educational competitions for the children to compete in to provide them an outlet to express themselves and their knowledge. In addition, the society will also be providing a valuable venue for up and coming art exhibitions.
Anyone wishing to visit the Library the official Timings are from Sunday to Thursday – 9 am until1 pm, evening timings will be advised in the future.
حضرت الرفاع ڤيوز ، أول مشروع سكني للجولف في البحرين حفل التكريم و الجوائز الذي نظمته جمعية رعاية الطفل و الأمومة و ذلك لدعمها لمكتبة الطفل و هي جزء من مركز معلومات المرأة و الطفل .
و قدمت الشيخة هند بنت سلمان آل خليفة ، عضو مجلس الأمناء لجمعية رعاية الطفولة و الأمومة الجوائز للمكرمين.و كانت وقائع الاحتفال يوم الأربعاء ال28 من شهر يناير و بحضور الدكتور ماجد النعيمي ، وزير التربية والتعليم بالإضافة إلى عدد من الشركات و المؤسسات التي دعمت المبادرة لبناء مكتبة الأطفال ، و الجمعية عموما.
و خلال إلقاء كلمتها قالت الشيخة هند بنت سلمان آل خليفة:”نحن نجتمع اليوم في شأن العمل الخيري ، ونحن هنا نرحب بكل من قدموا لنا الدعم سواء دعم الوقت أو الأموال من أجل الالتزام الاجتماعي لهذه القضية و مع الدعم والرعاية من جانبنا فنحن هنا بكل تواضع سنحاول مجددا تقديم أفضل الخدمات الاجتماعية.و الجمعية سعيدة لتأكد أنها ساعدت 1000 أسرة محتاجة من خلال تقديم الخدمات الطبية والمساعدات الأخرى ، والإعداد للاحتفال بالعيد ، و ابتداء المدارس على سبيل المثال لا الحصر .و علينا أيضا أن نذكر أن الجمعية تلقت الدعم الكبير من وزارة التربية و التعليم من خلال تطوع 150 طالبا للعمل التطوعي في الجمعية’.
وتقع المكتبة في مقر جمعية رعاية الطفل و الأمومة في مدينة عيسى ، حيث تم تأسيس مركز معلومات المرأة و الطفل و ذلك لهدف العمل من أجل تثقيف الشباب و خلق بيئة ايجابية حولهم. و توفر المكتبة الكثير من الأقسام لكي يستفيد منها الأطفال ؛ حيث تحتوي المكتبة على 2000 كتاب باللغتين العربية والانجليزية ، وتخطط المكتبة لإضافة المزيد من الكتب في المستقبل ؛ و هناك أيضا قسم الترفيه و الذي يشمل قسم التلفزيون مع أشرطة الفيديو التعليمية والترفيهية ؛ بالإضافة إلى الالكترونيات والألعاب التعليمية.
كما تخدم المكتبة الكبار مع الكتب باللغتين العربية والانجليزية ، و تضم الكتبة أيضا العديد من الأبحاث والكتب التي تنشر من قبل المثقفين والكتاب في البحرين.
و لا ينتهي مركز معلومات المرأة و الطفل هنا ، حيث يضم المركز محاضرات تثقيفية للكبار و التي تقوم جمعية رعاية الطفل و الأمومة بتنظيمها ، و أيضا الدورات التعليمية المتنوعة والتي تشمل الإنجليزية والحاسب الآلي ، و الخط العربي كما سيكون هناك قسم للفنون في المكتبة ؛ و سوف تتضمن المكتبة أيضا ورش عمل في الفن والموسيقى لخدمة مختلف الأذواق والمتطلبات.
كما ستبدأ جمعية رعاية الطفل و الأمومة بطرح المسابقات و المنافسات للطلبة و الأطفال و ذلك لتقدم متنفسا للتعبير عن أنفسهم ومعارفهم. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، فإن الجمعية ستوفر مكان لإقامة المعارض الفنية.
و علق السيد ريتشارد براوننج ، الرئيس التنفيذي للرفاع ڤيوز قائلا بهذه المناسبة، “إن افتتاح مكتبة مركز معلومات المرأة و الطفل هو هدف أساسي للمرأة ولجمعية رعاية الطفل و الأمومة كانت تطمح إلى تحقيقه ، وبالتالي فإن السبب في أن الرفاع ڤيوز قامت بدعم المكتبة هو أننا بحاجة إلى أن نكون جزءا من هذه القضية التي تثري الأطفال و تثري من مستقبل البحرين ، ‘
أما عن الخطة المستقبلية لمركز معلومات المرأة و الطفل فهي واسعة ومتنوعة من خلال إضافة مسرح العرائس للأطفال وقوفا على أداء المسرحيات والرسومات و القراءة في المكتبة وهناك أيضا قسم الفن داخل المركز و عمل الفخار و كل هذا ليس على سبيل الحصر.
التوقيت الرسمي لزيارة المكتبة من الأحد إلى الخميس من الساعة 9 صباحا حتى 1 مساءا و سيتم الإعلان عن فتح الأبواب في المساء في المستقبل القريب.
