Riffa Views showcases achievements to the Southern Area Municipality

The Riffa Views’ management team recently hosted a special visit for a delegation from the Southern Area Municipality, to showcase the achievements at the lifestyle development, and its wide range of world-class facilities. The delegation was headed by Shaikh Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Khalifa, Director of the Southern Area Municipality who was accompanied by a group of the Municipality’s engineers. The delegation was welcomed by Alfredo Laffitte, CEO of Riffa Views, Mr. Mohamed Salahuddin, Managing Director of MSCEB and Yasser Al-Raee, Riffa Views’ board member.

Alfredo Laffitte, who recently joined Riffa Views as CEO and who is also part of Layetana, the highly experienced European developer that is overseeing the completion and final delivery of the project, commented: “This visit was a good opportunity to review the milestones that Riffa Views has achieved as we build and deliver a world-class project for the Kingdom of Bahrain. Since the outset, we have enjoyed a close relationship with the Southern Area Municipality, which has ensured the timely issuance of permits and other approvals to enable the delivery of high quality facilities, utilities and other infrastructure requirements for the project. This relationship will remain important in the years to come as the community of Riffa Views matures.”
The delegation visited the Riffa Views International School (RVIS), which is completing its first full year of operation. The school has many outstanding facilities, including a library which contains 6,500 volumes, a state-of-the-art technological infrastructure, based on a high speed fiber-optic cable network and campus-wide wireless access, and an indoor sports facility which is one of the largest school indoor sports facilities in the region.
The delegation also reviewed the overall site where 70 villas, mainly within the Lagoons and Oasis Estates, have already been completed. The main handover phase commences during the summer months.
In addition, there was a tour of the facilities of The Royal Golf Club, where major milestones have been achieved, including the initial opening of the 18-hole Colin Montgomerie golf course in November 2008 and the commissioning of the floodlights to mark the beginning of “night golf” in May 2009. Construction of the Clubhouse has also been completed and it will be followed by another milestone in July 2009, when the Riffa Views Country Club is due to complete.

Michael Braidwood, General Manager of The Royal Golf Club commented: “The Southern Municipality’s official visit was a great opportunity to review the scale and accomplishment of this project, and to highlight the completed elements of the development, the Riffa Views International School and the Royal Golf Club, all of which are integral to the overall vision of the Riffa Views’ community. The management teams of all three are working closely together to complete the whole development and deliver the community vision.”
Shaikh Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Khalifa commented: “On behalf of the staff of the Southern Area Municipality, we would like to thank the management team of Riffa Views for hosting us today and for informing us on the stages of implementation of the project, which is one of the most outstanding and unique projects in the southern area. قامت الرفاع ڤيوز باستضافة وفد من إدارة بلدية المنطقة الجنوبية و ذلك للاطلاع على آخر تطورات المشروع من نمط الحياة المتميز إلى منشئاتها ذات المستوى العالي. و ترأس الوفد المهندس الشيخ محمد بن أحمد بن سلطان آل خليفة، مدير عام بلدية المنطقة الجنوبية الذي رافقه فريق من مهندسي البلدية. كما رحب السيد ألفريدو لافيت, الرئيس التنفيذي للرفاع ڤيوز بالوفد بحضور السيد محمد صلاح الدين ، المدير التنفيذي لشركة محمد صلاح الدين للاستشارات ، إلى جانب الهندسية السيد ياسر عبد الرحمن الراعي ، عضو في مجلس إدارة الرفاع ڤيوز.
و رحب بالوفد السيد ألفريدو لافيت ، و الذي انضم لتوه كرئيس تنفيذي للرفاع ڤيوز و الذي هو جزء من فريق عمل شركة لايتانا- و هي شركة أوروبية ذات خبرة عالية في تطوير المشاريع و الإشراف عليها حتى تسليمها كاملة – قائلا : ” ان هذه الزيارة كانت فرصة طيبة فخورون لعرض المراحل التي تم تحقيقها في مجال تطور المشروع و هو دليل على التزامنا المتواصل لبناء وتنفيذ مشاريع عالية المواصفات في مملكة البحرين.. و منذ البداية فقد تمتعنا بعلاقة وثيقة مع بلدية المنطقة الجنوبية والتي ضمنت لنا الإمكانية في الحصول على إصدار التصاريح والموافقات الأخرى في الوقت المناسب لتقدم نوعية عالية من التسهيلات والمرافق وغيرها من متطلبات البنية التحتية للمشروع. وستظل هذه العلاقة مهمة في السنوات المقبلة و ذلك من خلال مجتمع الرفاع ڤيوز.
وزار الوفد مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز الدولية (RVIS) ، والتي تستكمل أول سنة منذ بدا العام الدراسي. و تحوي المدرسة العديد من المرافق و المميزات ، بما في ذلك المكتبة التي تحتوي على 6،500 مجلدا ، و بنية تحتية تكنولوجية متطورة ،و التي تم بنائها على أساس السرعة العالية من خلال كابلات الألياف البصرية والشبكات اللاسلكية المنتشرة على نطاق الحرم المدرسي ، بالإضافة إلى المرافق الرياضية والتي تعد واحدة من أكبر المنشآت الرياضية الداخلية في المدارس في المنطقة.
كما استعرض الوفد الفلل المستكملة في الموقع و التي يصل عددها إلى 70 فيللا ، حيث يقع معظمها في ضيعة البحيرات والواحة. و ستكون المرحلة المهمة من التسليم في بداية أشهر الصيف المقبلة.
وبالإضافة إلى ذلك ، تم التجول في مرافق النادي الملكي للغولف ، حيث تم استكمال معظم المعالم الرئيسية فيها، بما في ذلك افتتاح الملعب ذو الثمانية عشر حفرة و الذي تم تصميمه من قبل لاعب الجولف كولين مونتجومري في نوفمبر 2008 ، و بدأ تشغيل أضواء الكشافات معلنة بذلك الاحتفاء بابتداء “لعبة الجولف الليلية” في مايو 2009. كما تم الانتهاء من بناء مبنى النادي و الذي سيليه معلما آخر في يوليو 2009 ، عندما سيكتمل بناء النادي الريفي.

و قال مايكل بريدوود ، المدير العام للنادي الملكي للغولف : “إن زيارة وفد البلدية الجنوبية الرسمية كانت مفيدة للغاية من خلال السماح لنا لإظهار ما تم إكماله من مراحل تقدم المشروع والانتهاء من عرض العناصر الأساسية له ، بالإضافة إلى مدرسة الرفاع ڤيوز الدولية والنادي الملكي للغولف ، وهي جميعا أمور أساسية لرؤية شاملة لمجتمع الرفاع ڤيوز. و إدارة الفرق من جميع العناصر الثلاثة تعمل معا بشكل وثيق لإنجاز المشروع برمته، وتقديم رؤية شاملة للمجتمع.
و علق المهندس الشيخ محمد بن أحمد بن سلطان آل خليفة مدير عام بلدية المنطقة الجنوبية قائلا : “بالنيابة عن موظفي بلدية المنطقة الجنوبية ، نود أن نشكر فريق إدارة الرفاع ڤيوز لاستضافته لنا و ذلك لمشاركتنا بمراحل تنفيذ المشروع ، وهي واحدة من أبرز المشاريع الفريدة في المنطقة الجنوبية. كما نود أن نعرب عن شكرنا العميق لهذه الدعوة التي تعكس وتعزز التعاون بين بلدية المنطقة الجنوبية والرفاع ڤيوز “.
