Riffa Views brings yet another international event to Bahrain
June 13, 2007
Riffa Views Signature Estates today announced its title sponsorship of the Asian 14/U series tennis championship, to be held in Bahrain in November of this year. The ‘Riffa Views Series Championship’ agreement was encouraged by celebrity tennis legend Boris Becker during his visit to Bahrain in February 2007, in conjunction with Mr. Ajay Pathak, member of the Asian Tennis Federation Juniors’ Committee.
The ‘Riffa Views Series Championship’, is the culmination of the Asian 14/U tennis series, and kicks off on November 19th 2007. This event follows the final of the ‘Riffa Views Cup’, which happens to be the final leg of the series. The tournament will see players from all over Asia convene in Bahrain to face off against their international counterparts. The championship event rotates annually around Asian countries, and this year Bahrain will host the first ever crowning of winners in a Middle-eastern country. The ‘Riffa Views Cup’ held in November 2006, was the first international tennis tournament ever held in Bahrain.
Mr. Richard Browning, Riffa Views’ CEO, commented: “Tennis in Bahrain has increasing prevalence, and it is part of Riffa Views’ mission to lend our continual support to the game, in order to put Bahrain on the map as a regional contender in the sport. We are constantly striving to enhance the talent and potential of young Bahrainis in tennis.”
“Our hosting of the ‘Riffa Views Cup’ in 2006 increased Bahrain’s sporting profile internationally, and by bringing the Asian 14/U series championship to Bahrain the country’s reputation for excellence in tennis is sure to be enhanced.” Mr. Browning added.
“The Riffa Views’ lifestyle promotes healthy living and, as such, we are pleased to support events that encourage young enthusiasts to adopt the same values. We are confident the Bahrain Tennis Club, under the new and dynamic leadership of Mr. Khamis Al Muqla, will be an excellent host for this event,” he concluded.
Boris Becker, who facilitated the agreement during his visit to Bahrain in February, added: “Support and encouragement of junior competition is critical for future champions to emerge and grow their talent. By hosting the ‘Riffa Views Series Championship’ in Bahrain, local young tennis players will have a challenging opportunity to test themselves against Asia’s best.”
Mr. Khamis Al Muqla, President, Bahrain Tennis Club, commented: “Riffa Views is leading the way for Bahrain’s organisations to support the game of tennis in the Kingdom. The Bahrain Tennis Club is constantly striving to develop local players to a calibre high enough to compete at a regional level – for this reason corporate support is highly valued.”
